Primeo is a Swiss energy company whose origins date back to 1897, when it was founded as EBM (Elektra Birseck Münchenstein). It is a historic energy operator in Switzerland and has been active in France since 1906, notably as a local distribution company (ELD) in twelve communes in Alsace, including Saint-Louis.

Primeo is involved in both the supply and production of electricity. The group operates 232 renewable energy sites (wind, hydro, solar) across Europe, with a total renewable electricity production of 1,489 GWh in 2024. As of 2024, Primeo serves over 170,000 customers in Switzerland and France.

While Primeo initially focused on professional electricity supply, it entered the residential market in France in 2023. The company employs between 50 and 99 people in France, with its French headquarters located in Paris. Primeo is part of the Primeo Energie group, which is not state-owned and is not publicly listed.
